Summer 2011: Weeks Two-Four

We've been busy knocking items off our summer to-do list. We went to Yogurtouille, a few times. We made pizza on the BBQ. We went out to breakfast and ordered hot cocoa with extra whipped cream.

We set up our lemonade, chocolate chip cookie and brownie stand on one of the hottest days we've had so far.

We finished a puzzle.

My favorite day so far this summer was our trip out to the coast to go berry picking. The weather at the little farm was gorgeous. The strawberries were bright red and juicy. It was a little harder to find the ripe olallieberries, but we still came home with a three bucketfulls. They'll be perfect for homemade ice cream.

After putting our nearly ten pounds of berries in the cooler and stashing them in the car, we headed to the beach. Look how different the weather was just 1.5 miles west of the berry farm.

California weather is weird, but I love it. Despite the fog and my feelings about the beach, it was a very pleasant afternoon. So pleasant in fact, that I might even consider taking them to the beach again before the summer ends.
