Help me out Sunday blog readers

A few weeks ago we had some family photos taken by the amazing Blue Lily Photography. A couple of years ago they took some of my favorite pictures of my kids. I was so excited when I saw they were coming to the Bay Area again.

The day of our scheduled outdoor shoot was rainy. Rainy, misty, muddy and rainy. Did I mention the mud and rain? We were late. My husband was annoyed with my vague directions. My kids were in a wonky kind of mood. By the end of our session our feet and pants were soaked and cold. When we got back into the car and I looked at my hair in the mirror my first thought was, "oh well, maybe we will at least get some good shots of the kids."

I did not have high hopes for the results.

But then I saw the photos and I am loving them. Despite my unfortunate last minute outfit change into this blousy shirt that makes me look like I'm expecting my fourth child in a couple of months, I am nuts about this picture.

I strongly suggest you keep an eye on the Blue Lily blog and if they are ever anywhere near you, take advantage! You won't regret it, even if you change your outfit at the last minute so you don't clash with your husband's blue sweater. (Just be sure to make your husband change his sweater instead, but I'm not bitter or anything).

So here is my dilemma. Have you heard of One Kings Lane? Every time the UPS man knocks on our door my husband regrets the day he introduced me to One Kings Lane. I've got some really great stuff on that site, and I've also spent his hard earned money on things that are lovely, but we really don't need.

A few months ago I purchased a 20" x 24" photo on canvas from Chic Canvas via One Kings Lane for $65 (valued at $129). Then I took a million photos hoping for one that was worthy of blowing up and nothing really struck me. Then I forgot about it for a few weeks.

But when I saw these photos below from our Blue Lily shoot, they were exactly what I was looking for. Here is where you come in. I narrowed it down to four photos:

Option One

Option Two

Option Three

Option Four

I really love the black and white one, but I also really love the colors in all the others. I am going to hang it on this lonely blue wall in my family room.

I need your help internet. Which one do you think I should blow up on put on canvas? Leave me a comment and vote for your favorite. Don't be shy!

Disclaimer: Blue Lily Photography, One Kings Lane and Chic Canvas had nothing to do with this post other than being sites I adore.

i like option number one because it is the most dynamic of the four and the viewers eye is more engaged with the photo. also the green of the grass would make a great contrast!!

Lovely photos :)

Option 1! Great photos, beautiful family! (Obviously, you can't go wrong)

I agree with 1. The green will pop on that blue wall!

Number One! Love it, the energy is so awesome. That is a gorgeous family shot against the barn too!

Option 3, all the way! (I fast-forwarded so I didn't see what the peeps above me said. Will check after I hit submit.) I love them all though, but the one that immediately speaks to me for this is #3! :)

HOW FUN! I don't know One Kings Lane...but am going to click through now!

For me, option 3. No question. But my mom said option 1. Good luck!

Option ONE, for sure. The colors are beautiful and the joy just pops out of the picture. Great action shot.

Looks like I'm in agreement with most of the other commenters... Option 1! I love the action and composition. :)

#1 is my fave ... but #4 could be a close second!

They're all good, but I love #1. If you like the look of black and white, I would (a) play with the coloring of #1 until it's a good B&W, or (b) crop #2 so the kids are less "lost" in the photo.

I will keep the make-the-man-change in mind. I recently took a "girls' group photo" where I bent at the waste to fit with everyone...making my carefully-chosen-to-give-me-curves-instead-of-lumps dress useless. (Lesson: Bend at the knees, or stand in the middle so you don't have to "squish" in)

On my second look-through, I liked #2, precisely because it's not as close on your kids -- it captures the spirit of their kid-dom, rather than their features, so it might be a bit more timeless.

I love Blue Lilly! She is from my hometown and have watched her business grow. She also did my sister's bridal photos. And my cousin's family photos. She is amazing.

I like #2. =)

I love Blue Lily - she's an inspiration. She also tends to come to town when I'm out of town. I'm trying not to take this personally.

I vote for #4. Definitely.

Am I too late? I love Option 3. I believe in including the parents.

One is my favorite with the colors and the jumping, but I love number three because it has all of you.

Can't wait to see what you pick! They're all fabulous!

What did you pick?!?!?!
